Community Conservation Project

With our groups mission always in mind and our involvement with

The Conservation Volunteers (TCV), we endeavour to make this conservation project inclusive, educational and accessible to all in the community, especially our local schools. The importance of learning about nature and how we can help wildlife to thrive has

never been more important than now.

Climate Change is very real and if we can make a difference even on a local level, no matter how small, it's still a step in the right direction and a big step towards helping our local environment thrive and survive and have fun whilst doing it.

Activities will include planting native trees and hedgerow plants for food, nectar and shelter for wildlife and for locking in carbon. We'll be making a living willow tunnel, making bug hotels, creating log piles for invertebrates.

These are just a few of the activities to take part in, there will be lots more to come! We'll let everyone know via our web site News & Info page and our Facebook page when any events are due to take place.

'If Nature Thrives - We All Thrive'

Social Inclusion

At Friends of the Fal, we are dedicated to creating a community space for all to enjoy and to give nature and wildlife a helping hand. This is by no means an easy feat, but through a 'can do' approach alongside community engagement, we believe we can facilitate progress in this area.  We are always striving to make a difference, and invite you to learn more and lend your support by becoming a volunteer and joining our Green Gym.
All Green Gym volunteers are equal and there is no entry criteria.
See our 'About' page to learn more about Friends of the Fal, how you can get involved and what Green Gym can offer you.

Community Development

Our goal is to promote great opportunities for those in the community. With access to the right resources, people can become empowered by their own abilities and gain the confidence

to fulfil their potential and find their wings.

Grampound already has a great community who pull together and look out for one another and especially so during the

Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

We can all start recovering from such challenging and harrowing times by working outside in the environment and connecting with people and nature which can offer huge benefits

to our physical, mental health & well being.

We can also lose some of those extra 'Covid' pounds we've put on!

Learn more about our work by getting in touch with us today and find out how you can make a difference for nature and your community.

Join In - Feel Good

We believe the best way for this project to grow, blossom and be successful, is for the community to actively get involved. This is an easy and efficient way of contributing and being part of the vital work we do to enhance the potential for an abundance of wildlife down by the Fal.

Here at Friends of the Fal, we always appreciate the  involvement of people in our community who want to make a difference and contribute towards sowing the seeds of change for a conservation project we can all be proud of. By working together, we are enabling our local environment to thrive, and helping towards making our aims and objectives come to fruition in our task to create a better space for the community and wildlife.

Welcoming, and accessible outdoor environments can improve our physical, mental and social health by allowing people to be physically active outdoors, and helping people to connect with and get closer to nature.

'Wellbeing can be understood as how people feel and how they function, both on a personal and a social level, and how they evaluate their lives as a whole. It is not merely the absence of disease'
